Play Date Cafe Challenge #175

Hi everyone! Did you wonder where last week's challenge was? Well, we had a bit of a problem with the USPS being extremely sloooow, so I will be posting a belated project with beautiful The Crafter's Meow stamps in a few days!

But, this week we have one of my favorite color combos, and projects, of all time!

My favorite color is purple, so of course I wanted to do something special.  I had a little 6x6 deep-edge canvas I have been saving, so here's what I did with it:

Supplies: flowers by Prima, Michael's, and from my stash; butterfly die cut from Sizzix, "Imagine" from Making Memories, fancy trim by Kaisercraft, and background patterned tissue paper by Tim Holtz; mists by SEI, Ranger Perfect Pearls, and Dylusions. Script Stamp by Stampin' Up, and hexagon stamp is actually a pot holder/trivet from Walmart.

If these colors inspire you, be sure to check out complete challenge information at The Play Date Cafe Blog! Our sponsor this week is Ribbons Unlimited Inc, and you could win a great prize from them!

Play Date Cafe Challenge #173 - Color Splash!

It's that time again--we have a new challenge for you and it's a color splash!

Sometimes, color splashes are hard for me, since I normally like to use a lot of different colors. But, I knew just what I wanted to do for this! I had purchased some burlap after looking at Tim Holtz's awesome tattered flowers, and I really wanted to use it. I sprayed it (and some white cardstock) with Mister Huey's and some Heidi Swapp Color Shine, and then used the Tattered Floral die. The center flower is from Michael's.

I used a Hero Arts stamp in the background, brushed the edges of the paper with some coral paint, and that's about it!  Thanks for looking!

If you are inspired by this week's color(s), then check out The Play Date Cafe blog for complete information. You could win a prize by the awesome Simon Says Stamp!

Smile!

Take a look at the card I made for the Paper Haus blog the other day:

I was so inspired by Tim Holtz's tattered floral tutorial, I had to make my own!
At the time, I didn't have any grungeboard or burlap or the center ideology fasteners, but after a trip to Joann's, I now have all of that :) I may be back later with another take on his challenge!

In addition to using the tattered floral die, I also used the flower garland die by Tim as well.

Other supplies include: distressed dots embossing folder by Tim Holtz, a ticket punch by EK Success, some distress ink, brads, and a sticker by EAD.

Play Date Cafe Challenge #172

That's right, it's time for another great color story this week!  Here it is:

And here's my take on these bright, happy colors:

I just love that big flower, it's from Michael's. I also love those fibers--they are recycled from a coaster swap I participated in recently (another participant used it as wrapping and I just had to re-use it myself!)

Well, I don't have a lot to say today, but I do hope that if these colors inspire you, that you join in with us! Go to The Play Date Cafe blog for complete participation rules and prize information.

Our sponsor this week is Scrapbookpal.com. You could win a gift certificate!

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying some sunshine as we in the Northern Hemisphere are getting closer to spring :)
